KALAHARI ARMS HOTEL

The Kalahari Arms Hotel in Ghanzi on the Trans-Kalahari Route to Maun, Botswana, offers accommodation to suit every budget. Ghanzi is known as the “capital of the Kalahari” and started out as a small hunting and trading post in 1870. The Kalahari Arms Hotel was one of the first businesses to be established in Ghanzi (that, according to some, was named after the Naro word describing the good condition of the antelope found in this part of Botswana).

BOTSWANA LODGES AND HOTELS

From Ghanzi it will take you just three hours to Maun. Maun is the gateway to the Okavango Delta and the Kalahari Arms Hotel recommends that you select a lodge or hotel from Maun Accommodation. Maun accommodation includes Rileys Hotel, Island Safari Lodge and Thamalakane River lodge to name just a few. Spend at least one night in one of these lodges before you depart on your Okavango Delta Safari. In the Okavango Delta you can spend some time in a lodge in Moremi before depart to Savuti where you can stay in the Savuti Elephant Camp. Savute is in the Chobe National Park and you will most likely continue through the park to Kasane. In Kasane the Chobe Safari Lodge offers luxurious accommodation at affordable rates.

You can easily drive in a day from the Kalahari Arms Hotel to Francistown within a single day. In Francistown you can choose between luxury hotels such as Thapama Hotel, Marang Gardens hotel and Woodlands stop over self-catering (self contained) accommodation. The Kalahari Arms Hotel recommends the Marang Gardens hotel in a beautiful setting with magnificent gardens.

NAMIBIA ACCOMMODATION

The Kalahari Arms Hotel is proudly associated with hotels and lodges in Namibia. In the south of the country at Keetmanshoop the Quivertree Forest Restcamp is our prefered accommodation and in Swakopmund along the Namibian coast we recommend Alte Brucke near the beach.

In the far north-east of Namibia is a narrow strip known as the Caprivi. At Caprivi Accommodation you can get information or do bookings at lodges such as Kwando Camp, Mazambala Island Lodge, Lianshulu and Ngepi camp. Ngepi Camp on the banks of the Kavango or Okavango river is one of Namibia's famous lodges.

You will most likely want to include a safari in Zimbabwe. Sikumi Tree Lodge in the Hwange National Park is three days drive from Ghanzi. This lodge offers excellent accommodation and safaris.
