From the Kalahari Arms Hotel you can drive North to Maun the gateway to the Okavango Delta and Moremi. In Maun you can stay in the Thamlakane River Lodge. We offer a selection of hotels and cars in Maun and the Okavango, which is only three hours drive from Ghanzi. On the Western panhandle of the Okavango Delta lies Shakawe. Here Drotsky Cabins is a mere 5 hours drive with a Landcruiser or car from Temba Car Hire from the Kalahari Arms Hotel in Ghanzi and is the most popular lodge or hotel. If you visit Ghanzi, Maun and the Okavango Delta, we strongly recommend Andries Erwee as your tour guide.

South of Ghanzi is Kang Ultra Lodge the best accommodation along the Central Kgalagadi Highway between Johannesburg and Ghanzi in Kang, Botswana. Five hours north of Ghanzi is the CAPRIVI Strip in Namibia. Here you can book accommodation and camping at Mazambala Island Lodge, Kwando Camp in Caprivi, Ngepi Camp a perfect family destination in Caprivi Namibia along the Kavango River or Kaisosi River Lodge near Rundu, which is 6 hours from the Kalahari Arms in Ghanzi.

To the North East of Ghanzi lies Chobe National Park where you can stay in hotels such as SENYATI SAFARI LODGE and Toro Lodge. Both offer good accommodation near Chobe and Kasane, 7 hours from the Kalahari Arms hotel in Ghanzi. Seventy km from Kasane is Victoria Falls where you can stay in excellent accommodation and enjoy activities. This is 4x4 area and we strongly recommend that you heire a landruiser or other vehicle from Temba Car Hire in Maun or Kasane

Most people visiting Ghanzi and Botswana will start their tour in the capital city Gaborone where we offer a selection of good hotels. The Kalahari Arms Hotel in Ghanzi is five hours drive from Gaborone. In Gaborone you can stay in the The Big Five Lodge or if you prefer something more luxurious you can stay in Cresta Lodge Gaborone. Unfortunately there is no sister hotel of the Kalahari Arms in Gaborone. However if you prefer the rural atmosphere of Ghanzi why not try Mokolodi Lodge Gaborone self-catering accommodation just 12 km from Gaborone.

From Ghanzi you will need to travel West to reach the city of Francistown. On your way from Ghanzi to Francistown you can overnight in either Gweta lodge and hotels or Nata Lodge on the edge of the Makgadigadi Pans 6 hours from the Kalahari Arms Hotel in Ghanzi. If you take the Southern route via Serowe to Francistown you can overnight at Khama Rhino Sanctuary. In Francistown your choice would be Woodlands self catering. Woodlands self-catering and camping is the best for families and people on self drive holidays near Francistown in Botswana. Woodlands is also known as Woodlands 4x4 but the camp is accessible with any vehicle.

Ghanzi is Kalahari country. Once you experience the Kalahari Arms Hotel in Botswana you may want to visit Upington in the Kalahari in South Africa. Here you will be able to choose accommodation such as self-catering accommodation at the Kalahari Monate Lodge or the Upington Country Lodge. If you prefer more luxury then the Kalahari Arms Hotel in Ghanzi then the Kalahari Sun River Lodge a boutique hotel in Upington might be your answer.

Large parts of the Kalahari is in Namibia. Within easy reach from the Kalahari Arms Hotel lies Windhoek the capital, where you can choose from hotels and self-catering accommodation such a Arebbusch Self-Catering just South of the city and 7 hours from the Kalahari Arms hotel.

The coastal town Swakopmund lies 9 hours from Ghanzi in the Namib Desert. South of Swakopmund in Namibia is Solitaire and Sossusvlei. At Sesriem near Sossusvlei there are two excellent hotels. Sossusvlei Lodge is luxurious whilst Sossusvlei Desert Lodge offers self-catering accommodation at Sesriem 11 hours from the Kalahari Arms in Ghanzi.

To the North West of Ghanzi in neigbouring Namibia lies DAMARALAND where you can stay in excellent lodges such as Twyfelfontein, Ugab Terrace Lodge, Vingeklip Lodge and the flagship Palmwag. The roads in this area is gravel and we recommend that you hire a car or 4x4 to visit these area

Etosha National Park is Namibia's best game park and to the North West of Ghanzi and the Kalahari Arms Hotel. In the Etosha National Park you can simply stay in Temba Etosha Lodge a self-catering lodge just outside the Etosha National Park.

If you drive South West from the Kalahari Arms Hotel you will end up in Grunau in Namibia. In Grunau you can overnight in Grunau Lodge self-catering accommodation. Still in Grunau twod days drive from the Klahari Arms in Ghanzi is Grunau Country House bed and breakfast accommodaion in the old Grunau Hotel in Grunua in between Noordoewer and Keetmanshoop in Namibia or Orange River Lodge self-catering accommodation in Noordoewer near the South African border.

If you want to visit South Africa after your stay in Ghanzi why not consider the Drakensberg Mountains. The Wildcoast will be a fantastic break after Ghanzi and you can stay in Umngazi River Lodge the luxury destination near Port St Johns or at N'taba River Lodge.Kob Inn Hotel is the perfect Wildcoast hide away and family resort while Hole-in-the-Wall Hotel offers basic hotel and self-catering accommodation at Hole-in-the-Wall. Mazeppa Bay Hotel is good for anybody who wants to break away from the Kalahari and wants to enjoy a holiday at the Wildcoast of the Eastern Cape Province of South Africa.

Slightly nearer to Ghanzi and the Kalahari Arms Hotel is Colesberg in the Northern Cape Province. In Colesberg you can choose between the Merino Inn Motel and self-catering accommodation such as Gables Inn. Even further from Ghanzi lies Hanover in South Africa. Hanover Inn offers affordable but very basic accommodation in Hanover South Africa. Hanover Lodge offers Bed and Breakfast in Hanover, South Africa. Directly East of Hanover and slightly nearer to Ghanzi in Botswana lies Britstown. In Britstown you can choose between Britstown Transkaroo Lodge or self-catering accommodation at Britstown Kambro Lodge on a Karoo Farm 20 km North of Britstown.
